5 out of 5 starsRochelle was always on time, efficient and very personable. She remembered my issues and kept track of my outside activities in order to sculpt my program. She also provided copies of the exercises I should do on my own. As well, she worked with me to use my insurance coverage effectively. In addition, the reception staff was always friendly and courteous, sending reminders of appointments regularly.

5 out of 5 starsWe are extremely satisfied with our physiotherapist, Maria. She is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely invested in her patients’ well-being. What I appreciate most is how personally she cares about my recovery, she takes the time to listen, understand my concerns, and makes sure I feel comfortable and supported throughout the process. She never makes me feel rushed and always explains things clearly, which has given me a lot of confidence in my treatment. You can truly tell that she cares about her patients, not just as clients, but as people. I’m very grateful to have her helping me with my recovery. Highly recommend her!

5 out of 5 starsStaff is very knowledgeable, friendly, always willing to help with paperwork or accommodate with appointments. Andrew has a great and vast knowledge in what he does, he is the only acupuncturist who has been able to fix my issues with just a few sessions. One thing that I'm not happy about is parking, since when a clinic has gates and paying parking? This is becoming an issue.

5 out of 5 starsI've been a client of MedRehab for several years. Your staff are very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable about the service they provide. Any time I've had an injury or pain, by attending for the appropriate number of appointments, I believe I've always eventually healed well. I highly recommend this office.

Massage therapy in north-west Brampton
Welcome to Earlsbridge. Harpreet Kaur, Judith Recolcolin, Michael Aguilera, Preet Rana and Sakshi Kanda make up one of the largest massage teams in the group, and between them they cover the clinic’s seven-day week, so whether you are here for a sore neck, a training injury or simply an hour to yourself, there is a therapist and a time that fits.
New to this treatment? Learn about registered massage therapy and what to expect.
Our Brampton clinic sits on Earlsbridge Boulevard just off Chinguacousy Road, within a short drive of Fletcher’s Meadow, Mount Pleasant, Snelgrove, Heart Lake and Springdale. Most people we treat here live within about ten minutes of the door, and a good number spend an hour or more on Highway 410 before they reach a desk.
That shapes the work. A large share of the massage booked here is for neck, upper back and shoulder tension built up over months rather than a single injury. The other steady theme is families. Fletcher’s Meadow and Mount Pleasant are young neighbourhoods, so pre and post natal work sits alongside weekend athletes who have overdone it.
Types of massage therapy we offer in Brampton
Massage therapy is not one technique. What your therapist uses depends on what is wrong, how long it has been wrong, and what you need to be able to do again. At your first appointment your therapist will explain which of these they intend to use and why.
Deep tissue massage
Slow, firm pressure applied through the deeper layers of muscle and the fascia around it. This is the most requested treatment at our Brampton clinic, and the commuter pattern is the reason. Long periods in a car set the upper back and shoulders in a fixed position, and the tissue adapts to it. Deep tissue work is uncomfortable in a useful way, but you should never have to brace against it. Tell your therapist if you do and they will ease off.
Swedish massage
Longer, flowing strokes at lighter pressure, working the surface layers to increase circulation and settle the nervous system. Often the right starting point if you have never had massage before, if an area is too sensitive for deeper work, or if the problem is as much stress as it is mechanical.
Relaxation massage
Closely related to Swedish, with the emphasis firmly on the nervous system rather than a specific injury. Useful if you are carrying sustained stress, sleeping badly, or holding tension you cannot consciously release. It is a legitimate clinical reason to book, not an indulgence.
Myofascial release
Fascia is the connective tissue wrapping every muscle. When it tightens it restricts movement in ways that stretching alone does not resolve. Myofascial work uses sustained, low-pressure holds rather than repeated strokes, so it feels quite different to deep tissue. It is often the answer when an area feels persistently stiff rather than sore.
Sports massage
Aimed at people training or competing, whether that is a Brampton soccer league or a first half marathon. Before an event the work is brisker and shorter, intended to prepare tissue. Afterwards it is slower, helping recovery and picking up the small restrictions that turn into injuries if ignored.
Pre and post natal massage
Delivered with proper positioning and support, using side lying rather than lying face down as pregnancy progresses. Commonly booked here for low back and pelvic discomfort, and afterwards for the neck and shoulder strain that comes with feeding and carrying. Tell us you are pregnant when you book so we allocate the right therapist and the right room setup.
What massage therapy actually does
It is worth being straightforward about the benefits, because massage is often oversold.
- Reduces muscle tension and pain. The best evidenced benefit, particularly for neck, shoulder and low back pain.
- Improves range of movement. Releasing tight tissue restores movement that stretching alone often will not.
- Helps tension headaches. Many headaches originate in the neck and upper back, and treating the source helps more than treating the head.
- Supports recovery from training. Helps you return to load sooner and more comfortably.
- Lowers stress and improves sleep. A real effect, and often the reason someone finally books.
- Works well alongside other treatment. Massage frequently achieves more as part of a physiotherapy plan than by itself.
What it will not do is permanently fix a problem driven by how you sit, move or train. If that is the picture, your therapist will say so and suggest what else needs to change.
Your registered massage therapists in Brampton
Massage here is delivered by Registered Massage Therapists, regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Registration matters twice over: it means an accredited education and a regulated practitioner, and it means a receipt your extended health plan will accept.
The Brampton team is Harpreet Kaur, Judith Recolcolin, Michael Aguilera, Preet Rana and Sakshi Kanda, covering between them deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, sports and pre and post natal work. If you have a preference, say so when you book and we will match you.
What happens at your first appointment
The first visit is longer, because it starts with a conversation rather than a table. What hurts, how long for, what makes it worse, and what you need to get back to. Your therapist will look at how you move and where you actually hold tension, which is often not where it hurts.
Treatment follows in the same appointment. You stay covered by a sheet throughout and only the area being worked on is uncovered. You control the pressure. You will leave with one or two things to do at home and an honest estimate of how many visits you need.
Coverage and direct billing
Most Ontario extended health plans include a yearly amount for registered massage therapy, commonly three to five hundred dollars, though plans vary widely. We direct bill most major insurers, so in many cases you pay only the remainder.
Bring your insurance details to the first visit and reception will check what your plan allows before you are treated rather than after. Where we cannot bill directly we provide a receipt carrying your therapist’s registration number, which is what plans ask for.
No referral is needed. If your treatment relates to a car accident or a workplace injury, tell us when you book, because those are funded differently and we handle the paperwork.
Questions we get asked in Brampton
Which type of massage should I book? You do not need to decide. Book massage therapy and your therapist will choose after assessing you.
Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers want a doctor’s note before reimbursing, so check your own policy.
Is there parking? Yes, free on site at Earlsbridge Boulevard.
Can I get an evening or weekend appointment? The clinic is open until 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, until 8pm on Thursday, and 9am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Each therapist keeps their own schedule within those hours, so ask reception which evenings and weekend days your therapist works.
Is deep tissue supposed to hurt? It should feel firm and useful, not painful. Say something and your therapist will adjust immediately.
Can I book massage while pregnant? Yes. Mention it when booking so we set the room up properly.
