Amazing staff; they are super friendly and genuinely care about you and your progress. They even recognized/remembered me from when I first went there just about 3 years ago now for another concern I had at that time. They are absolute rockstars at this location. I highly recommend the pickering location for your physic needs!

I have found that all of the Physio staff that have treated me at MedRehab are knowledgeable and helpful and professional. Rhoda has helped me so much to alleviate pain and I would not hesitate to refer friends and family. In fact I have already referred a number of people to this clinic. The Ladies at the front counter reception area are friendly and welcoming. Any appointments made are on time as per the schedule.

I've had the most amazing experience with MedRehab Pickering! From the moment I called in to request an appointment to the day I completed my treatment, I've always been met with so much kindness and great customer service from Catherine and the ladies at the front desk! My physiotherapist, Rhoda, was incredible - she was kind, friendly, so knowledgeable, and the exercises, stretches, and treatment she provided me with helped me recover quickly and just in time to go back to school!

Many thanks to MedRehab Pickering! I have improved so much in overall muscle strength and body posture, in a relatively short period of time. I just started sessions working with a great physiotherapist Dharini. She is very knowledgeable, and has patience in showing me the correct way to do the exercises, to be able to have continued results, and long lasting impact on wellness. All the staff that I met at MedRehab Group, including Teena and Rhoda in Pickering are amazing!

Walked into MedRehab Pickering, with hip pain , walking was painful and at a 9. In physiotherapist Teena's capable hands with just 4 sessions, I can walk without pain or a limp. Highly recommend Teena she's awesome and this clinic.

I was struggling with my ankles and it was really affecting my daily activities. Tina was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire process. She carefully assessed the issue, explained everything clearly, and created a treatment plan that truly worked. Rachelle is also a great physiotherapist and Steve is an excellent chiropractor — both very professional and supportive. I’m very satisfied with the care.

My experience with Dr. Teena so far has been wonderful. She has helped me recover from postpartum back pain through physiotherapy treatments and exercise, and also helped me discover which part of my body needed more strength training. I'm grateful for her attentiveness.

So happy I found MedRehab through Google and liked their positive reviews. Pleased to share my experience for treatment of severe plantar fasciitis. Reception girls were always bubbly and pleasant to deal with. Rhoda my RT treated my sore feet and after just a few sessions I have great improvement in my pain when walking. Stop looking, don't delay, just call and get treated at MedRehab. No more walking on Lego!

I have been dealing with pain from a hip injury and planter fasciitis for a few years and tried many different methods of using exercise to heal but the pain was not subsiding. I got an appointment with Teena at Medrehab in Pickering and told her I wanted treatment for my pain first before I started exercises to strengthen the areas. Teena listened to me and developed a plan that included physio, stretching and shockwave therapy to help reduce the pain. My mobility has improved and my pain levels are way down in just a few weeks. The receptionists are extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Teena and the team at Medrehab in Pickering.

This year, I had struggled to find a massage that truly worked for me. Although my initial session here fell short, the admin team followed up promptly, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring a positive customer experience. They recommended a therapist who proved to be an excellent fit, and the subsequent appointment was the best I’ve had all year.

I've used Med Rehab for both massage therapy, and most recently physio therapy. My experience in physiotherapy with Teena has been incredible. Sitting at a desk for the last 25 years for work has earned me constant neck and back pain. I always just assumed it was something I had to live with. I do not have to live with it. and neither do you. Use your benefits, and make your life more comfortable. Can't say enough about my experience. and Teena specifically. Incredible.

Teena has been fantastic, helping me to recover from a painful shoulder injury. She is extremely knowledgeable and considerate, identifying the best recovery methods. My shoulder feels the best that it has in nearly a year. The office staff is great as well, very friendly and accommodating.

Massage therapy in Pickering and west Ajax

Welcome to Kingston Road. With seven Registered Massage Therapists, Pickering has more massage appointments than any other clinic we run, including early mornings and evenings for people coming to or from the GO. Dong Jiao, Jacksy Robert, Jake Chen, Jocelyn Cabotaje, Nancy Chen, Stefan Sultan Khan and Sharon Huang are the team; tell the front desk what you need and they will match you.

Our Pickering clinic is on Kingston Road at Liverpool, reachable from Bay Ridges, Liverpool, Amberlea, Dunbarton, Rosebank and Brock Ridge, and close enough that a fair number of patients come across from west Ajax rather than driving further into Durham.

This is the largest massage practice in our group. Seven Registered Massage Therapists work here, more than any other clinic we run, which is why we can usually offer an appointment within a few days. The clinic also keeps the longest weekday hours in the group, 8am to 8pm Monday to Thursday, plus Saturday mornings.

Types of massage therapy we offer in Pickering

With seven therapists we cover a wider range of techniques than most clinics can, and we can usually match you to someone whose particular strength fits the problem. You do not need to know which you want before booking.

Sports massage

The most in-demand treatment at this clinic. Durham has an active population and we treat a steady flow of runners, hockey players and gym athletes. Pre-event work is brisk and short, intended to prepare tissue. Post-event and maintenance work is slower and more investigative, finding the small restrictions that become injuries when left alone.

Deep tissue massage

Firm, slow pressure through the deeper muscle layers and surrounding fascia. Heavily booked here by commuters on the 401, where sustained driving positions leave the upper back and shoulders set in place. It should feel like productive discomfort, never something you have to endure in silence.

Swedish massage

Flowing strokes at lighter pressure through the surface layers, improving circulation and calming the nervous system. The right choice for a first massage, for an area too irritable for deep work, or when the underlying driver is stress as much as mechanics.

Relaxation massage

A close relative of Swedish, aimed squarely at the nervous system rather than a named injury. Worth booking if you are sleeping badly or carrying tension you cannot consciously let go of. It is a valid clinical reason to come in.

Myofascial release

Fascia wraps every muscle, and when it tightens it limits movement in a way stretching does not resolve. This uses sustained, gentler holds rather than repeated strokes, so it feels quite unlike deep tissue. Usually the right answer when an area is stiff rather than sore.

Pre and post natal massage

Positioned properly, using side lying as pregnancy progresses rather than face down. Booked here mostly for low back and pelvic discomfort, and afterwards for the neck and shoulder load of feeding and carrying. Mention it when you book so we assign the right therapist and set the room up.

Acupuncture alongside massage

Two of our Pickering therapists, Nancy and Jake, are registered acupuncturists as well as Registered Massage Therapists. If your assessment suggests both would help, that can be arranged without sending you to a different clinic; see acupuncture at our Pickering clinic for how it works.

What massage therapy actually does

  • Reduces muscle tension and pain, particularly in the neck, shoulders and low back.
  • Restores range of movement that stretching alone frequently will not.
  • Speeds recovery between training sessions, which is why the sports work is so heavily booked here.
  • Helps tension headaches that originate in the neck and upper back.
  • Eases pregnancy-related discomfort when delivered with correct positioning.
  • Lowers stress and improves sleep.

What massage will not do is permanently undo a problem caused by how you train, sit or move. Where that is the picture, your therapist will tell you plainly and suggest what else needs to change.

Your registered massage therapists in Pickering

The team is Dong Jiao, Jacksy Robert, Jocelyn Cabotaje, Sharon Huang, Stefan Sultan Khan, Nancy Chen and Jake Chen. All are Registered Massage Therapists regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, which is both a standard of training and the reason your receipt is claimable.

A team this size means you can usually stay with the same therapist across a course of treatment, which matters more than people expect. Continuity means nobody has to rediscover your history every visit.

What happens at your first appointment

The first visit starts with questions, not treatment. What hurts, for how long, what aggravates it, what you want back. Your therapist will watch you move and find where the tension actually sits, which is often not where the pain is.

Treatment follows in the same appointment. You stay draped by a sheet and only the working area is uncovered. Pressure is yours to set. You will leave with a couple of things to do between visits and a straight answer on frequency.

Coverage and direct billing

Most Ontario extended health plans include an annual allowance for registered massage therapy. We direct bill most major insurers, so you generally pay only the balance.

Bring your policy details to the first appointment and reception will confirm your coverage before you are treated. Where direct billing is not available we issue a receipt showing your therapist’s registration number.

Massage connected to a motor vehicle accident or a workplace claim is funded separately. Tell us at booking and we deal with the paperwork.

Questions we get asked in Pickering

Do you have Saturday appointments? Yes, 9am to 2pm, and this is the only clinic in the group that does. They book out first, usually a week ahead.

Which type of massage should I choose? You do not have to. Book massage therapy and your therapist decides after assessing you.

I live in Ajax. Is this my nearest clinic? For most of west Ajax, yes. Our next closest location is considerably further west.

Can I see the same therapist each time? Usually. With seven therapists we can normally keep you with the one you started with.

Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers ask for a doctor’s note before reimbursing, so check your policy.

Can I combine massage and acupuncture? Yes. Two of our therapists here are registered in both.
