I had a great experience at MedRehab with Prachi, Sheryl and Arpita. They helped me a lot with my lower back pain, I truly appreciate all their help and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a physiotherapist. All three of them were very kind, knowledgeable, supportive and professional. They always made sure to make me feel comfortable and the receptionist is also the sweetest lady ever Thank you Rachel ❤️

Mohammed is incredible! He is rich in knowledge and the desire to help. What's a bonus is he is willing to indulge in conversations as he treats you. Since I started with him earlier this year, my TMJ has gone from preventing me from eating, to being a minor issue thanks to his help. I highly recommend him for anyone experiencing similar issues!

I was treated by Prachi, who worked on my issues with care, consideration, and skill. Came to this location earlier this year with a lot of physical pain and discomfort, and have left feeling lighter in my body and without pain. Coming here has been excellent for coordinating and working with my health.

Staff very welcoming and professional, the physiotherapist easily did the assessment needed and proceeded to provide treatment. I left with a home exercise Program I chose this company and location because of its proximity to home and recommendation from a good friend.

I came here after a Motor Vehicle Accident with a complex back and left arm injury, and the care has been life-changing. My physiotherapist is a true expert in med-rehab. They didn't just give me generic exercises; they developed a targeted, clinical plan that specifically addressed my limited mobility and pain levels. For the first time since the accident, I actually feel like I'm regaining my strength and getting my life back. If you are dealing with post-MVA trauma, don’t settle for average care. The specialized attention and results here are unbeatable.🥰

Mildred is AMAZING! She is more than just a massage therapist, her knowledge is endless and she is constantly teaching as she provides services so that you know what the issue is and what is going on. Mohammed is very enthusiastic about his practice. Definitely recommend his service if you have chronic pain. Prachi and Gopi are excellent physiotherapists. Med rehab is a great facility.

My ongoing experience with MedRehab is great! Rachel is always welcoming and is very helpful with scheduling and her communication is great! It was my first working with a Chiropractor and Mohammed was amazing from day one. His very knowledgeable and his observations skills is on point. I love how realistic he is and how he personalized my treatments; has educated me how to incorporate it into my everyday life without realizing. I truly appreciate how he helps me to learn about how to maintain the strength in areas that can affect me later on in life. My experience has been great everytime and definitely would recommend the service at MedRehab Group.

Chiropractic at St. Clair and Dufferin, Toronto

Welcome to the west end. Our Toronto clinic is at 1670 Dufferin Street, Suite B03, right at St. Clair Avenue West, and it is the easiest of our clinics to reach without a car: the 512 St. Clair streetcar and the 29 Dufferin bus both stop at the corner. Dr. Mohammed Gowher, Doctor of Chiropractic, practises here alongside physiotherapists, a massage therapist and an osteopath, serving Corso Italia, Regal Heights, Oakwood Village, Wychwood, Davenport and Earlscourt.

The city spine

Chiropractic is a large part of this clinic, around one visit in seven, and most of it is what a dense, transit-riding, desk-working neighbourhood produces. Neck pain and headaches from long days at a screen and long rides standing on the streetcar. Low back pain from sitting, then carrying groceries up three flights. Cyclists who came off on Dufferin. Older residents of the neighbourhood whose spines have stiffened over the years. Dr. Gowher treats:

  • Neck pain, a stiff neck and headaches that start in the neck
  • Low back pain, sudden or long-standing, and sciatica once serious causes are excluded
  • Pain between the shoulder blades and around the ribs
  • Injuries from a car or cycling collision, planned with our physiotherapists
  • Hip and shoulder problems where the joint is part of the picture
  • Back and pelvic pain in pregnancy, with adapted techniques
  • Stiffness in older adults, treated with gentler mobilisation

Chiropractor, osteopath or physiotherapist?

All three are here. A locked or painful spinal joint suits chiropractic. Diffuse stiffness across several regions, or a wish for slower whole-body treatment, suits osteopathy. Weakness, instability, a sports injury or recovery after surgery suits physiotherapy. If you are not sure, book any of them; each assesses first and refers within the clinic.

How Dr. Gowher works

Assessment first, then joint manipulation, mobilisation, soft tissue work and exercise as the findings suggest, each explained and agreed before it is used. You stay clothed. Plans are built for people who live in apartments and commute by transit: exercises that need no equipment and advice on how to sit, stand and carry on the streetcar. The aim is a plan with an end, with more of the work shifting to you as you improve.

Your first appointment

Allow forty-five minutes to an hour. History, what you want to be able to do again, an examination of how your spine and the joints around it move, strength and nerve tests where relevant, and screening for anything that should go to a doctor first. You leave with a plain-language explanation, a plan with a rough number of visits and something to do at home. Treatment usually starts the same day.

Coverage

Chiropractic is not covered by OHIP but is one of the most commonly covered services on extended health plans through work, usually to an annual limit. We bill most major insurers directly. There is no HST on chiropractic. After a car accident, or a collision while cycling or walking, it can be funded through your auto insurance accident benefits when it is part of an approved treatment plan, which apply to cyclists and pedestrians too. After a workplace injury it can be part of a WSIB program of care for an allowed claim.

Questions we hear at St. Clair and Dufferin

What are your hours? Monday and Wednesday 12pm to 7pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm. Chiropractic runs on Dr. Gowher’s days; ask when you book.

I was hit while cycling. Am I covered? Yes. Ontario’s accident benefits cover cyclists and pedestrians injured by a vehicle, through the driver’s insurer or your own. Tell us at booking and we handle the forms with our physiotherapists.

Is there parking? Limited: side-street parking and paid lots nearby. Transit is easier. The clinic is Suite B03 on the lower level.

Does the adjustment hurt? Usually not. Pressure, a quick movement, often a click, then relief. Mild soreness for a day is common.

Do I need a referral? No. Check whether your insurer wants a doctor’s note.

Can I see the chiropractor and the osteopath? Yes, as separate appointments with shared notes. Many people here use both.
