Dr. Rahim Habib, Naturopath
(Doctor of Naturopath)
Rahim graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000 after completing his Biology degree from Western University and Environmental Studies courses at York University. Born in Kampala, Uganda, my family came to Canada in the early 1970s. His inspiration comes from his father’s passion for farming and all things nature, as well as his mother’s passion for preparing great food. These lifelong influences helped him develop an interest in nature and the value of a clean environment and healthy diet – a natural fit for his interests and a career in Naturopathic Medicine. During Rahim’s naturopathic medical program, he concurrently studied detoxification therapies, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, reiki, mind-body medicine and found a range of therapeutic tools to appreciate and integrate into his care for his patients and their families. After graduation, Rahim had the fortune to work alongside multi-disciplinary practitioners including physicians, chiropractors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and massage therapists; this helped him develop an appreciation of a team-based approach to helping, and understanding the context of healing from an illness or injury, whether acute or chronic. Rahim had his own share of health struggles in his own life. From these experiences, Rahim learned the practical process of recovery and truly began to personally experience the root-cause naturopathic philosophy, in addressing seemingly unrelated symptoms and ‘mystery illness.’ It’s been his honor to serve and care for a wide range of patients, from the young to the elderly, over the past two decades in his naturopathic practice. With each person Rahim works with, he is excited by the healing opportunities people present with, and in their response to implementing naturopathic care. It takes courage to move forward, to make change and to relearn what it is to reclaim and maintain your health. It’s truly a privilege to work alongside each person and Rahim looks forward to sharing his expertise in recovery and wellness promotion.
