I’ve had a great experience with my physiotherapist Noel Laguna. He takes the time to explain each exercise, including which muscles it targets, how they function, and why the exercise is important. This understanding has really helped me stay motivated and consistent with my exercises at home. Highly recommend his knowledgeable and patient approach!

I have had both physical therapy and massage therapy here. My experiences with Noel have always been professional, informative and result driven. He has made my neck and shoulders have more range and virtually pain free after a few weeks. Larissa was amazing explaining everything I needed to know for after massage care. The staff overall are respectful, prompt and always address me by name.

Massage therapy in Richmond Hill

Welcome to Major Mackenzie and Bathurst. Five Registered Massage Therapists work at our Richmond Hill clinic, Alla Pavlenko, Craig Casimiri, Larissa Plokhova, Lin Cao and Tien Dao, which is why you can usually get an appointment within days here and why Saturday runs until 3pm, later than any other clinic in the group. The clinic is at 955 Major Mackenzie Drive West, Unit 106, on the Richmond Hill side of the Maple border, with free parking at the plaza.

Massage is one visit in five at this clinic, second only to physiotherapy, so the team has depth: firm, slow deep tissue work at one end, gentle relaxation and prenatal work at the other, and therapists whose approaches differ enough that the front desk can match you to the right one.

Who books massage here

The largest group is older adults, who make up much of this clinic’s caseload and who come for stiffness, arthritis-related tension and simply to keep moving. Then working-age people from Richmond Hill, Maple, Oak Ridges and Thornhill with neck, shoulder and low back tension from screens and commutes. Then the athletes and the pregnant, in roughly equal numbers.

  • Deep tissue and trigger point work for tension that has been there for months
  • Gentle and relaxation massage for older adults and anyone who prefers lighter work
  • Sports massage before and after events and training blocks
  • Myofascial release for stiffness spread across several areas
  • Pre and post natal massage with side-lying positioning
  • Lymphatic drainage for swelling and post-surgical recovery, with selected therapists

One building, seven disciplines

This is the most complete clinic we run: physiotherapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, chiropody, naturopathy and osteopathy under one roof, sharing one file. If your massage therapist thinks a stiff joint, a foot problem or a persistent pain needs another discipline, the referral happens at the front desk the same day, and nobody repeats their story.

Your first appointment

Your therapist takes your history, asks what you want from treatment and looks at how the area moves before agreeing a plan with you. Treatment follows in the same session. You undress only to your comfort level and are draped throughout; you set the pressure. Book forty-five or sixty minutes the first time. Tell the front desk what you are coming for and any preference for firmer or gentler work, and they will match you to a therapist.

Coverage

Most extended health plans cover registered massage therapy to an annual limit, and every therapist here is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. We bill most major insurers directly. Massage carries 13% HST. After a collision, massage can be funded through your auto insurance accident benefits when it is part of an approved treatment plan; after a workplace injury it can be part of a WSIB program of care for an allowed claim.

Questions we hear in Richmond Hill

What are your hours? Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 8pm, Wednesday 9am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm. Therapists keep their own days within those hours.

Which therapist should I choose? Tell the front desk what you need and whether you prefer firm or gentle work, and they will place you. Once you have found the right fit, stay with that therapist through a course of treatment.

Is the clinic in Richmond Hill or Maple? Richmond Hill, at 955 Major Mackenzie Drive West. Maple is the neighbouring community a few blocks west and many of our patients come from there. Maple GO is a few minutes away.

Can I have massage and chiropody or acupuncture on the same visit? Yes, as separate appointments in the same building, planned together.

Do I need a referral? No. Check whether your insurer wants a doctor’s note.

Where do I park? Free parking at the plaza; the clinic is Unit 106. York Region Transit’s Major Mackenzie and Bathurst routes stop at the corner.
