Chiropractic in Newmarket and East Gwillimbury
Glad you found us. For much of northern York Region, this is the closest MedRehab Group clinic by a long way, and people come from Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Holland Landing, Sharon and Bradford. You will find us at 181 Green Lane East, Unit 2, just east of Yonge Street on the East Gwillimbury side of the line and a couple of minutes north of Upper Canada Mall. Dr. Daniella Astorino, Doctor of Chiropractic, works here alongside our physiotherapists, a massage therapist and an acupuncturist.

Why people book chiropractic here
Chiropractic makes up nearly one visit in five at Green Lane, the highest share of any clinic in the group, so Dr. Astorino sees the full spread of spinal problems every week. The most common by far is low back pain built on the Highway 404 commute and long days sitting at the other end of it. Neck pain and the headaches that come with it are next. And because this is a small, friendly clinic, a lot of people simply come back when an old problem flares rather than waiting it out.
Whatever brought you in, the list is long:
- Low back pain, new or years old, and sciatica once serious causes are ruled out
- Neck pain, a stiff neck that will not turn, and neck-related headaches
- Pain between the shoulder blades and around the ribs
- Injuries from a collision, planned together with our physiotherapists
- Hip and shoulder problems with a joint component
- Back and pelvic pain in pregnancy and after childbirth
- Stiffness in later life, treated with gentler mobilisation where bone density is a concern
What treatment looks like
Dr. Astorino assesses before she treats and chooses from joint manipulation, slower mobilisation, soft tissue work and home exercise depending on what she finds and what you are comfortable with. You stay clothed. Each technique is explained and agreed before it is used. The aim is a plan with an end point, not a standing appointment: as your spine moves better, more of the work shifts to you.
When the problem turns out to be weakness, instability or a sports injury, physiotherapy is the better tool, and that conversation happens in the same building the same day.
Your first visit at Green Lane
Set aside forty-five minutes to an hour. History first, then what you want to be able to do again, then an examination of movement, strength and nerves where relevant, with screening for anything that should see a doctor first. You leave understanding what is going on, with a plan and a rough number of visits, and treatment usually starts the same day.
Paying for it
Chiropractic is not covered by OHIP. Most extended health plans through work cover it to an annual limit, and we bill most major insurers directly. No HST applies. After a car accident, chiropractic is funded through your auto insurance accident benefits; after a workplace injury it can form part of a WSIB program of care. Bring your claim number.
Questions we hear in Newmarket
What are the hours? Monday and Tuesday 10am to 6pm, Wednesday 9am to 7pm, Thursday 11am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm; closed at weekends. Chiropractic runs on Dr. Astorino’s days; ask when you book.
Is the clinic in Newmarket or East Gwillimbury? The address is East Gwillimbury, on Green Lane just east of Yonge. Newmarket starts across the road.
Does Dr. Astorino work anywhere else? Yes, at our Richmond Hill clinic on Major Mackenzie Drive, which is useful if you need a day she is not in Newmarket.
Does the adjustment hurt? Usually not. Pressure, a quick movement, often a click, then relief. A day of mild soreness is common. If a joint is very irritated she starts with gentler work.
Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers want a doctor’s note before they reimburse; check your plan.
Where do I park, and can I come by transit? Free parking at the plaza; the clinic is Unit 2. Yonge Street buses stop at Green Lane and East Gwillimbury GO is a few minutes east.
