Welcome to Green Lane. Our Newmarket clinic is at 181 Green Lane East, Unit 2, just east of Yonge Street on the East Gwillimbury side of the boundary, a couple of minutes north of Upper Canada Mall. Ying Wei is the Registered Massage Therapist here, and she is also a registered acupuncturist, which makes this a useful clinic for anyone whose muscle tension comes with a wider pain problem.

This is a small, physiotherapy-led clinic, and massage is a small part of its week, so the diary is tight and worth booking ahead. For a lot of Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Holland Landing, Sharon and Bradford it is the nearest place with a full rehabilitation team.
What Ying Wei treats
Most people come with neck and shoulder tension built on the Highway 404 commute, or a low back that has been complaining for months. Others are sent down the hall by our physiotherapists or chiropractor when hands-on soft tissue work will help their plan along, or come for a combined massage and acupuncture course when pain has plateaued. Approaches include deep tissue and trigger point work, Swedish massage, myofascial release and relaxation massage, chosen after assessment rather than picked from a menu.

Massage and acupuncture from one practitioner
Because Ying Wei is registered in both, a plan can move between the two without a second practitioner or a second intake. That suits chronic neck and back pain, tension headaches and the kind of muscle tightness that keeps returning. The two are billed as separate services and most extended health plans cover each under its own category.
Your first appointment
Health history, what you want from treatment, and a look at how the area moves, then a plan agreed before hands-on work starts. You undress to your comfort level and are draped throughout. You set the pressure. Book forty-five or sixty minutes the first time.
Coverage
Most extended health plans cover registered massage therapy to an annual limit, and Ying Wei is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. We bill most major insurers directly. Massage carries 13% HST; acupuncture from a registered acupuncturist does not. After a collision, massage can be funded through your auto insurance accident benefits when it is part of an approved treatment plan; after a workplace injury it can be part of a WSIB program of care for an allowed claim.

What are your hours? Monday and Tuesday 10am to 6pm, Wednesday 9am to 7pm, Thursday 11am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm; closed at weekends. Massage runs on Ying Wei’s days, so ask when you book.
Is the clinic in Newmarket or East Gwillimbury? The address is East Gwillimbury, on Green Lane just east of Yonge. Newmarket starts across the road.
I cannot get a massage slot this week. What are my options? Our Richmond Hill clinic on Major Mackenzie Drive has five massage therapists, evenings to 8pm and Saturdays to 3pm.
Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers want a doctor’s note before they reimburse; check your plan.
Where do I park? Free parking at the plaza; the clinic is Unit 2. Yonge Street buses and Viva Blue stop at Green Lane, and East Gwillimbury GO is a short drive east.
