What we see most

This clinic treats a lot of workplace and collision injuries, and massage here is often booked alongside physiotherapy on a WSIB or accident claim, with the front desk handling the paperwork for both. The everyday side is just as busy: low back pain that has become a constant background ache, neck and shoulder tension from desk and driving jobs, and muscle strains from the gym, the rink and the garden. The therapists also work with people recovering from surgery once their surgeon clears hands-on treatment.

How massage fits with physiotherapy here

Stoney Creek is a physiotherapy-led clinic, and massage works better when the two plan together. Physiotherapy diagnoses the injury and rebuilds strength; massage reduces the tension and pain that get in the way. They are separate appointments with separate practitioners, but the notes are shared, so your therapist knows what your physiotherapist found and vice versa. If the assessment suggests a joint problem, a chiropractor is in the same building.

Your first appointment

Longer than a follow-up, because it starts with your history and a look at how you move. Your therapist explains what they have found and agrees a plan with you before any hands-on work. Draping is standard: you undress to your comfort level and only the area being treated is uncovered. Pressure is yours to set. Book forty-five or sixty minutes the first time, and if a claim is involved bring your claim number.

Coverage and direct billing

Most extended health plans cover registered massage therapy to an annual dollar limit, and we bill most major insurers directly so you pay only the part your plan does not. Both therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Massage carries 13% HST. After a collision, massage can be funded through your auto insurance accident benefits when it is part of an approved treatment plan; after a workplace injury it can be part of a WSIB program of care for an allowed claim.

What are your hours? Monday to Thursday 9am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm. Each therapist keeps their own days; ask when you book.

I was hurt at work. Can massage be part of my WSIB treatment? Often, yes. WSIB funds a program of care rather than a particular profession, so massage can be delivered inside it where the physiotherapist running your program includes it. Bring your claim number.

Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers want a doctor’s note before they reimburse; check your plan.

Where do I park? Free parking at the building. HSR buses along Queenston Road stop at Eastgate Square across the road, and the Red Hill Valley Parkway is minutes away.

How often should I come? An acute problem usually responds to weekly treatment for a few weeks; maintenance is closer to monthly. Your therapist suggests a schedule after assessing you, and nobody is sold a package.
