    I came in with an issue with my arm and was diagnosed with golfers elbow. Came to see Vishruti and she helped me relive the pain and get my arm back to normal. Took a few sessions but now my arm is feeling better than normal. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Massage therapy in Woodbridge

Welcome to Weston Road. Christina Gutierrez, Epifania Mildred Millora, Ludmila Shmatnik and Luiza Alde are the four Registered Massage Therapists at our Woodbridge clinic, at 8333 Weston Road, Suite B05, between Highway 7 and Langstaff. This is the group’s head-office clinic and one of its oldest, serving Woodbridge and southern Vaughan since the 1990s, and massage is a fifth of everything booked here.

Monday mornings tell the story of the neighbourhood: weekend soccer and hockey, long weeks on the 400 and the 407, and shoulders that have carried both. Tuesday evening until 8pm is the slot people fight over.

What the therapists treat most

  • Sports strains and overuse from soccer, hockey and the gym, with a return-to-training plan agreed with our physiotherapists
  • Neck and shoulder tension from desk and driving jobs
  • Low back pain that has become a constant background ache
  • Stiffness in older adults, treated more gently
  • Pre and post natal discomfort, side-lying as the pregnancy progresses
  • Stress-related tension and poor sleep

Approaches include deep tissue and trigger point work, Swedish massage, sports massage, myofascial release and relaxation massage. You do not need to choose one; your therapist picks after assessing you, and a good session often uses several.

Four therapists, one file with the rest of the clinic

Having four means most days are covered and you can find the therapist whose approach suits you. It also means massage here sits inside a full team: physiotherapists, two chiropractors (see the Woodbridge chiropractic page), an acupuncturist and an osteopath, all working from shared notes. If your tension keeps coming back because of a joint or a weakness, the person who should treat that is in the same building.

Your first appointment

Expect a proper conversation and a look at how you move before hands-on work: what hurts, what makes it worse, and what you want back. Your therapist agrees a plan with you, then treats in the same session. You undress only to your comfort level and stay draped throughout. Pressure is yours to set, and a day of mild soreness afterwards is normal. Book forty-five or sixty minutes the first time.

Coverage and direct billing

Most extended health plans cover registered massage therapy to an annual limit, and all four therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. We bill most major insurers directly. Massage carries 13% HST. After a collision, massage can be funded through your auto insurance accident benefits when it is part of an approved treatment plan; after a workplace injury it can be part of a WSIB program of care for an allowed claim.

Questions we hear in Woodbridge

What are your hours? Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 7pm, Tuesday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm.

Which therapist should I book? Tell the front desk what you are coming for and whether you like firm or gentle work, and they will match you. Stay with one therapist through a course of treatment where you can.

Is this the same as your Vaughan clinic? No. This is Woodbridge South at 8333 Weston Road near Langstaff. Our Vaughan clinic is further north at Weston and Major Mackenzie, and Luiza Alde works at both.

Do I need a referral? No. Some insurers want a doctor’s note before they reimburse; check your plan.

Where do I park? Free parking at the building; the clinic is Suite B05. York Region Transit’s Weston Road routes stop outside and Highway 407 is a few minutes south.

Can I see a massage therapist and a physiotherapist on the same day? Yes, as separate appointments with shared notes.
